Overview
Eltel is a Melbourne business telecommunications provider based on St Kilda Road. It sells business nbn and fibre connections, on-premise, hosted and cloud phone systems, SIP and contact centre solutions, plus network hardware such as firewall routers, switches and wireless access points.
Businesses review their provider for ordinary reasons: a contract is ending, the office is moving, the team has outgrown its phone system, or they would like internet and phones to come from the one carrier that runs the network underneath them. Some simply prefer a provider that only serves businesses.
Summit Internet has been a business-only carrier for 26 years. We build, own and operate our own network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres, and supply business nbn, Ethernet over fibre, a hosted PBX, SIP trunks and Microsoft Teams Calling together.
Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Eltel.
How Summit Helps
-
Business nbn with a static IP
Our business nbn plans include a static IP, with speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. It is available to businesses right across Australia.
-
Ethernet over fibre for bigger sites
If your office relies on dedicated fibre, Summit supplies Ethernet over fibre on our own carrier network. Every service includes DDoS protection as standard.
-
A cloud phone system with every feature included
Summit's hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with every feature included: auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. We can preconfigure handsets and ship them to your office.
-
SIP trunks for the phone system you already own
Happy with your existing PBX? Our SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volume changes.
-
Calling inside Microsoft Teams
If your team works in Teams, Summit connects it to the phone network through Direct Routing with Microsoft Teams Calling. You keep your existing Microsoft licences, as Summit does not resell them.
-
Voice that is prioritised on our own connection
When your internet connection is also with Summit, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS so calls are not competing with downloads and backups.
-
4G Backup for when the line drops
4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back automatically when your main connection returns.
-
Inbound numbers and one bill
Add 1300 and 1800 numbers, fax to email, on-hold messaging and business mobile SIM plans. Internet, phones and mobile arrive on one bill.

We recently moved our dental practice over to Summit for phone services, and the experience has been excellent from start to finish. The team has been responsive, professional, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire setup process. The transition was smooth, any issues were addressed promptly, and communication was always clear and efficient. Reliable phones and internet are essential for a busy practice like ours, and Summit has delivered exactly that. A special thank you to Michael for his patience and ongoing assistance during the transition. Highly recommend Summit to any business looking for reliable service and great customer support.Read more

After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more
