Overview

E-Vision Voice and Data is a business communications provider with its head office in Notting Hill, Victoria. It sells business nbn plans with options such as static IP, 4G backup and MPLS connectivity, enterprise and business park fibre, and cloud voice that adds calling to Microsoft Teams through Direct Routing.

Businesses review their provider for all sorts of reasons: a contract is ending, they are moving office, they want internet and phones from one carrier, or they want a provider that deals only with businesses.

Summit offers Microsoft Teams Calling via Direct Routing, a cloud phone system for businesses that would rather not run calls through Teams, SIP trunks and inbound numbers, together with business nbn with a static IP, Ethernet over fibre and fixed wireless across Melbourne and regional Victoria, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with E-Vision Voice and Data.

How Summit Helps

  • Microsoft Teams Calling via Direct Routing

Teams Calling connects Teams to the phone network so your staff make and take calls in the app they already use. Summit does not resell Microsoft licences, so you keep buying those as you do now.

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

If some users or sites are better served outside Teams, Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month and includes auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. We can preconfigure handsets and ship them to you.

  • Business nbn With a Static IP Included

Business nbn is available nationally with a static IP included, and speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn.

  • Ethernet Over Fibre for Larger Sites

For sites that need dedicated capacity, we offer Ethernet over fibre on our own carrier network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres and DDoS protection as standard.

  • Fixed Wireless in Melbourne and Regional Victoria

For sites in Melbourne and regional Victoria, fixed wireless is also available across 500+ suburbs.

  • 4G Backup for When the Line Drops

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back automatically when your main service returns.

  • Voice Prioritised on Your Own Carrier's Network

When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS, so calls get first use of the link.

  • Inbound Numbers, Mobiles and One Bill

Add 1300 and 1800 numbers and business mobile SIM plans. Internet, phones and mobile arrive on one bill.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

List your E-Vision Voice and Data services, such as Teams Calling users, phone numbers, nbn or fibre services and any backup, and when your agreement ends.

  2. 2 Get a quote

We recommend the right mix of Teams Calling or Hosted PBX, internet and backup for each site and send you a written quote.

  3. 3 Install and set up

We connect your internet and configure Direct Routing or your cloud phone system, with handsets preconfigured and shipped if you need them.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We port your existing numbers across. Keep your E-Vision Voice and Data service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel once you are live

When your numbers have moved and everything is working, you cancel the old services.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of E-Vision Voice and Data?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with E-Vision Voice and Data.
Why switch if my E-Vision Voice and Data service is working?
If your current services do everything you need, there may be no reason to switch. Businesses usually talk to us when a contract is ending, when they are moving office, or when they want internet and phones from one carrier that deals only with businesses.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with E-Vision Voice and Data. Check your contract terms, and we can time your switch to line up with your contract end date.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, existing numbers can be ported to Summit, including numbers you currently use in Microsoft Teams. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Can I keep using Microsoft Teams for calls?
Yes. Summit provides Teams Calling through Direct Routing, so your staff keep calling from Teams. Summit does not resell Microsoft licences, so you keep buying those as you do now.
Do I have to use Teams?
No. If you would rather have a dedicated phone system, our Hosted PBX includes auto attendant, call queues, voicemail to email and call recording, with mobile and desktop apps. If you already own an onsite phone system, SIP trunks start from 2 channels.
Do you offer business nbn with a static IP?
Yes. Our business nbn is available nationally with a static IP included, and speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn.
Is Summit's fixed wireless available at my address?
Summit's fixed wireless covers Melbourne and regional Victoria across 500+ suburbs. Check your coverage to see what is available at your site.
