Overview

Call Central sells cloud phone systems to Australian small and medium businesses, along with call plans, 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers, business nbn and a call centre solution. The company, Call Central Communications Pty Ltd, is based in Fortitude Valley, Queensland.

Businesses review their phone provider for plenty of reasons: a contract is ending, the team is moving office, or they want their phones and the internet connection those phones depend on to come from one carrier that deals only with businesses.

Summit offers a cloud phone system, SIP trunks, Microsoft Teams Calling and 1300 and 1800 numbers, plus business nbn with a static IP, 4G backup and business mobiles, all on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Call Central.

How Summit Helps

  • A Business-Only Carrier

Summit does not sell residential services. Every product, plan and support process is built around what businesses need, and we have been doing it for 26 years.

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month and includes auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. Every feature is included, so there are no add-ons to work out per user.

  • Desk Phones Ready to Plug In

If your team prefers handsets, we can preconfigure them and ship them to you, so they work as soon as they are plugged in.

  • Your 1300 and 1800 Numbers Moved Across

Bring your 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers with your local numbers, and route them through the same auto attendant, ring groups and queues. Add fax to email and on-hold messaging if you need them.

  • Microsoft Teams Calling

If your team works in Teams, Teams Calling connects it to the phone network through Direct Routing, so staff make and take calls on their business numbers from Teams. You keep buying your Microsoft licences as you do now.

  • SIP Trunks for a Phone System You Own

Running your own PBX? SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volumes change.

  • Voice Prioritised on Your Own Carrier's Network

When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS. Business nbn comes with a static IP included, with speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn, and our network has Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres with DDoS protection as standard.

  • 4G Backup, Mobiles and One Bill

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back when your main service returns. Add business mobile SIM plans, and internet, phones and mobile arrive on one bill.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us how you use your phones

List your Call Central numbers, including any 1300 or 1800 numbers, your users, call flows and queues, your internet service, and when your agreement ends.

  2. 2 Get a quote

We recommend the right phone setup, whether Hosted PBX, Teams Calling or SIP trunks, plus internet and backup if you want them, and send you a written quote.

  3. 3 Set up your phone system

We build your auto attendant, ring groups and queues to match how your team works, and preconfigure and ship handsets if you need them.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We port your existing numbers across. Keep your Call Central service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel once you are live

When your numbers have moved and calls are working, you cancel the old service.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Call Central?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388, and is not affiliated with Call Central in any way.
Why switch if my Call Central service is working?
If your current service does everything you need, there may be no reason to change. Businesses usually review their provider when a contract is ending, when they are moving office, or when they want their phones and internet from one business-only carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with Call Central, so check its terms before you switch. Many businesses time the move to their contract end date, and we can plan the switch around that date.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, we can port your existing numbers, including 1300 and 1800 numbers. Keep your Call Central service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Can I keep my handsets?
That depends on the handset model. Tell us which phones you use and we will confirm, or we can preconfigure and ship new handsets.
Do I need to move my internet to Summit as well?
No. Our phone services work over other providers' connections. If your internet is also with Summit, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS and everything sits on one bill.
What features does Summit's cloud phone system include?
Every feature is included from $10 per user per month: auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording, and mobile and desktop apps.
Do you support Microsoft Teams?
Yes. Teams Calling connects Teams to the phone network through Direct Routing. Summit does not resell Microsoft licences, so you keep your existing licensing.
