Overview

BusinessCo Group is a Melbourne-based provider with its head office in Malvern, set up in 2013 to supply telco services to small and medium businesses. It sells through several brands, including UCOM, BusinessCom and Business1300, and says it has wholesale arrangements with the major carriers. Across those brands its business range includes cloud phone systems, SIP trunks, Business nbn, enterprise fibre, business mobile SIM plans, and 1300 and 1800 numbers.

There are plenty of good reasons to review a provider without anything being wrong. A contract is coming to an end. You are moving office. You want your internet and phones from a carrier that operates its own network, with voice traffic prioritised when your internet is with the same carrier. Or you would simply rather deal with one business-only provider for every service.

Summit Internet is a business-only carrier. We build, own and operate our own network with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres, and we supply Business nbn, Ethernet over fibre, fixed wireless in Melbourne and regional Victoria, a cloud phone system, SIP trunks, 1300 and 1800 numbers and business mobile plans to Australian businesses.

Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with BusinessCo Group or any of its brands.

How Summit Helps

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

Our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month, with auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps all included. We can preconfigure handsets and ship them to your office.

  • SIP Trunks for the Phone System You Already Have

Happy with your existing PBX? Our SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volume changes.

  • Keep Your 1300 and 1800 Numbers Working

We supply 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers, and we can port the numbers you already use. On-hold messaging and fax to email are also available.

  • Business nbn With a Static IP Included

Our Business nbn plans are available nationally, with a static IP included and speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. Every service sits behind DDoS protection as standard.

  • Dedicated Fibre When nbn Is Not Enough

For sites that need more, Ethernet over fibre is available as a business-grade alternative. In Melbourne and regional Victoria, our fixed wireless delivers symmetric speeds from 10 Mbps up to 10 Gbps.

  • Voice Prioritised on Your Connection

When your internet and phones are both with Summit, voice traffic is prioritised across the connection, ahead of everyday uploads and downloads.

  • 4G Backup That Fails Over Automatically

Add 4G Backup and your connection fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, then fails back when your main service returns.

  • Business Mobiles on the Same Bill

Our business mobile SIM plans sit on the same account as your internet and phones, so there is one bill and one provider to call.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

List your current services, such as phone system, SIP trunks, 1300 numbers, nbn and mobiles, plus your contract end date. We will recommend the right Summit services for each site.

  2. 2 Get a clear quote

We put together a written quote covering internet, phones and mobiles, so you can compare it against what you pay now.

  3. 3 Set up and port your numbers

We install your connection and configure your phone system, then lodge the port for your existing numbers. Keep your current services active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported.

  4. 4 Cut over and confirm

Once your numbers are live on Summit and everything is tested, you can arrange to cancel your old services.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of BusinessCo Group?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with BusinessCo Group or any of its brands, including UCOM, BusinessCom and Business1300.
Why switch if my BusinessCo Group service is working?
If your current services do everything you need, there may be no reason to switch. Businesses usually look at Summit when a contract is ending, when they are moving office, or when they want internet, phones and mobiles from one business-only carrier that runs its own network.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with your current provider, so check its terms before you commit. Many businesses time the switch to their contract end date, and we can plan the cutover around it.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, existing numbers, including 1300 and 1800 numbers, can generally be ported to Summit. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days. Keep your old service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported.
Can I keep my existing desk phones or phone system?
Often, yes. If you have an on-premises PBX, our SIP trunks can connect to it. If you are moving to our Hosted PBX, we will check whether your current handsets are compatible, or preconfigure new ones and ship them to you.
Do you offer business nbn outside Victoria?
Yes. Business nbn is available to Australian businesses nationally, with a static IP included. Our fixed wireless network is limited to Melbourne and regional Victoria, and you can check your coverage online.
Can you supply business mobiles too?
Yes. We offer business mobile SIM plans that sit on the same bill as your internet and phones.
What if my internet connection goes down?
Add 4G Backup and your service fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, then fails back when your main connection is restored.
