Overview

Business 1300, also known as B1300, is the inbound telephony brand of the Melbourne-based BusinessCo Group and was founded in 2012. It sells 13, 1300 and 1800 numbers, Smart Numbers, local numbers and call tracking to businesses, along with phone answering, virtual office addresses, virtual fax, SMS messaging, on-hold recordings and the UCOM GO softphone PBX.

Businesses review their provider for ordinary reasons: a contract is ending, they are moving office, or they want their inbound numbers, phone system and internet from one carrier that deals only with businesses. Having everything on one network makes it simpler to route calls, manage changes and keep track of what you pay for.

Summit offers 1300 and 1800 numbers, a cloud phone system, SIP trunks and Microsoft Teams Calling, alongside business nbn and fibre, all on a network we build, own and operate. If you also use phone answering or virtual office services today, talk to us about how your inbound numbers would be routed after a switch. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Business 1300 or BusinessCo Group.

How Summit Helps

  • Your 1300 and 1800 Numbers, Ported Across

We can port your existing 1300 and 1800 numbers to Summit, so the numbers on your website, vehicles, signage and advertising stay the same.

  • Inbound Calls Answered by a Full Phone System

Route your inbound numbers into Hosted PBX, our cloud phone system, from $10 per user per month with every feature included: auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps.

  • SIP Trunks for the Phone System You Already Own

Keeping your existing PBX? Point your inbound numbers at SIP trunks that start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volumes change.

  • Calls in Microsoft Teams

Make and receive calls, including calls to your inbound numbers, in Microsoft Teams through Direct Routing. You keep your existing Microsoft licences, as Summit does not resell them.

  • Fax to Email and On-Hold Messaging

Summit provides fax to email and on-hold messaging, so the extras that sit around your inbound numbers can move with them.

  • Internet That Puts Voice First

Pair your phones with business nbn with a static IP included, up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn, or Ethernet over fibre. When the internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised.

  • Stay Online if a Line Drops

Add 4G Backup for automatic failover to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and automatic fail-back when your main service returns.

  • A Business-Only Carrier

Summit does not sell residential services. We have been working with businesses for 26 years.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

List your inbound numbers, how calls are routed today, your phone system and your internet service, and we will recommend the right setup.

  2. 2 Get a clear quote

We put your numbers, phone system, internet and mobiles into one written quote on one bill.

  3. 3 Keep your current service active

Do not cancel your Business 1300 numbers before the port completes. Only active numbers can be ported, so a cancelled number may be lost.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We lodge the port and set up your call routing in advance. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and ports involving multiple numbers can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Go live

Once the port completes, calls arrive on Summit and you can then close your old services.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Business 1300?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with Business 1300, B1300 or BusinessCo Group.
Why switch if my Business 1300 service is working?
If your current service does everything you need, there may be no reason to change. Businesses usually switch when a contract is ending, when they move office, or when they want their inbound numbers, phone system and internet from one business-only carrier.
Can I keep my 1300 and 1800 numbers?
In most cases, yes. We can port your existing inbound numbers to Summit. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported.
How long does porting take?
The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and ports involving multiple numbers can take up to 30 days. We will confirm what to expect for your numbers when we lodge the port.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with your current provider. Check your contract terms, and if you can, time the switch to line up with the end of your contract.
What if I use phone answering or a virtual office today?
Summit provides inbound numbers, phone systems and connectivity. If you use answering or virtual office services today, we can talk through how your inbound numbers would be routed after the switch.
Can my 1300 number ring into a cloud phone system?
Yes. Your inbound numbers can route into Hosted PBX with auto attendant, ring groups and call queues, or into your existing phone system over SIP trunks.
Can I use Microsoft Teams for calls?
Yes. Summit connects Microsoft Teams to the phone network through Direct Routing. You keep your existing Microsoft licences, as Summit does not resell them.
Can Summit supply our internet too?
Yes. Summit provides business nbn with a static IP included nationally, Ethernet over fibre, and fixed wireless in Melbourne and regional Victoria. When your internet is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised.
