Overview

Bendigo Telco is a telco headquartered in Bendigo, Victoria, listed on the NSX. Its business range covers data and networks (Business nbn, nbn Enterprise Ethernet, SD-WAN and managed networks), voice (Business SIP, Cloud PBX, Microsoft Teams Calling and 1300/1800 numbers), cloud services and IT managed services.

Businesses review their telco for ordinary reasons: a contract coming to an end, a move to new premises, wanting internet and phones from a single carrier, or wanting a provider that only serves businesses. If any of those apply, it is worth comparing what else is available before you renew.

Summit has connected Australian businesses for 26 years. We build, own and operate our own network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres, and we supply business nbn, Ethernet over fibre, a Hosted PBX, SIP trunks and Microsoft Teams Calling on one bill.

Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Bendigo Telco.

How Summit Helps

  • Business nbn with a static IP included

Our business nbn plans include a static IP, with speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. It is available nationally, so it suits single sites and multi-site businesses alike.

  • Ethernet over fibre for sites that need more

If you are on an enterprise-grade connection today, Ethernet over fibre runs on Summit's own network. DDoS protection comes as standard.

  • A cloud phone system with every feature included

Our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month and includes auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. We can preconfigure handsets and ship them to you.

  • SIP trunks for the phone system you already own

If you have an on-premises phone system, SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volume changes.

  • Microsoft Teams Calling through Direct Routing

Make and take external calls in Teams with Microsoft Teams Calling via Direct Routing. You keep your existing Microsoft licences, as Summit does not resell them.

  • 1300 and 1800 numbers

Bring your inbound 1300 and 1800 numbers across, along with fax to email and on-hold messaging.

  • 4G Backup for when the line drops

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back automatically when your main service returns.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

Send us a recent bill or a list of your services, such as nbn, SIP trunks, Cloud PBX users and 1300 numbers, and your contract end date.

  2. 2 Get a quote

We design a replacement for internet and phones together, so voice traffic is prioritised on your Summit connection.

  3. 3 Install the new connection

We schedule the install of your new internet service around your contract end date, before you cancel anything.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We lodge the port for your existing numbers. Keep your Bendigo Telco service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel the old services

Once your numbers are live on Summit, cancel the remaining Bendigo Telco services in line with your agreement.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Bendigo Telco?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with Bendigo Telco.
Why switch if my Bendigo Telco service is working?
If your current services do everything your business needs, there may be no reason to switch. Many businesses look at alternatives when a contract is ending, when they move premises, or when they want internet and phones from one business-only carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with Bendigo Telco. Check your contract end date and any early termination terms. Most businesses time the switch to their contract end, and we can plan the install around that date.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, existing numbers can be ported to Summit, including 1300 and 1800 numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Can I keep my existing phone system?
If you own an on-premises phone system, SIP trunks can connect it to Summit. If you would rather move to the cloud, our Hosted PBX includes every feature from $10 per user per month.
We make calls in Microsoft Teams. Can Summit support that?
Yes. We provide Microsoft Teams Calling via Direct Routing. Summit does not resell Microsoft licences, so you keep the licences you already have.
Is business nbn available everywhere?
Business nbn is available nationally, with a static IP included. For businesses in Melbourne and regional Victoria, you can also check fixed wireless coverage at your address.
What happens if my internet goes down?
4G Backup switches your connection to Australia's biggest mobile network automatically, then switches back once your main service is restored.
Can I move my mobiles across too?
Yes. Summit offers business mobile SIM plans, so internet, phones and mobiles can sit on one bill.
