Overview

Bellmax is an Australian-owned technology and telecommunications provider based on the New South Wales Central Coast, founded in 2005. It serves homes as well as businesses. Its business range covers business nbn with 4G/5G failover options, Business Ethernet, a cloud hosted PBX, SIP trunks for customers running their own PBX such as 3CX, business mobile and mobile data SIMs, plus managed IT, cybersecurity and cloud services.

There are plenty of good reasons to review a provider without anything being wrong. A contract is coming to an end. You are moving office or opening a second site. You want your internet and phones from one carrier, with voice traffic prioritised over a connection that carrier runs itself. Or you would simply rather deal with a provider whose whole network and team are built around business customers.

Summit Internet is a business-only carrier. We build, own and operate our own network with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres, and we supply Business nbn, Ethernet over fibre, 4G backup, a cloud phone system, SIP trunks and business mobile plans to Australian businesses.

Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Bellmax.

How Summit Helps

  • Business nbn With a Static IP Included

Our Business nbn plans are available nationally, with a static IP included and speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. Every service sits behind DDoS protection as standard.

  • Ethernet Over Fibre for Sites That Need More

If your business has outgrown nbn, Ethernet over fibre gives you a fibre service with the same DDoS protection included as standard.

  • 4G Backup That Fails Over Automatically

4G Backup switches your connection to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, if your primary service drops, then fails back automatically when it returns. Your team keeps working without anyone touching the router.

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

Our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with every feature included: auto attendant and IVR, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps. We can preconfigure handsets and ship them ready to plug in.

  • SIP Trunks for the Phone System You Already Own

If you run your own PBX, such as 3CX, our SIP trunks connect it to the phone network. Start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volumes change.

  • Microsoft Teams Calling

Already working in Microsoft 365? We connect Teams to the phone network through Direct Routing with Microsoft Teams Calling, so your staff make and take calls in Teams. You keep buying your Microsoft licences as you do now.

  • Voice Prioritised When the Internet Is Ours Too

When your internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised with QoS across it. Internet, phones and mobile arrive on one bill from one carrier.

  • Business Mobile Plans

Round it out with business mobile SIM plans for your team, alongside 1300 and 1800 numbers, fax to email and on-hold messaging.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have now

Share your current internet services, phone numbers, handsets or PBX, and mobile plans, along with your contract end dates. We work out what you need and quote it clearly.

  2. 2 Plan the timing

We line up the switch with the end of your existing agreement where we can, so you are not paying twice or facing avoidable exit costs.

  3. 3 Install the connection

We provision your Business nbn, Ethernet over fibre or 4G backup and confirm it is working before your phones move across.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We lodge the port of your existing numbers. Keep your current phone service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Go live and cancel the old services

Once your numbers are live on Summit and everything is tested, you cancel the remaining services with your previous provider.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Bellmax?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with Bellmax and have no partnership with it.
Why switch if my Bellmax service is working?
If your current services do everything your business needs, there may be no reason to change. Businesses usually look at Summit when a contract is ending, when they move or add a site, or when they want internet, phones and mobile from one carrier that owns its network.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on the terms of your agreement with Bellmax. Check your contract end date and any exit fees first. We can plan your switch to line up with the end of your current term.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, existing numbers can be ported to Summit. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
I run my own PBX. Can I keep using it?
Yes. Our SIP trunks connect an existing phone system, such as 3CX, to the phone network. You can start from 2 channels and scale up or down.
Can I move to a cloud phone system instead?
Yes. Our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with every feature included, and we can preconfigure and ship handsets so they work as soon as they are plugged in.
Do you offer internet outside Melbourne?
Yes. Business nbn is available nationally with a static IP included. Our fixed wireless network covers Melbourne and regional Victoria only, so businesses elsewhere use Business nbn, Ethernet over fibre or 4G.
Do you provide managed IT services?
Summit focuses on business internet, voice and mobile. If you use Bellmax for managed IT or cybersecurity as well, you can move your connectivity and phones to Summit and keep your IT arrangements separate.
What if my nbn connection drops?
Add 4G Backup, which fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back automatically when your nbn service returns.
