Overview

Axecom sells business internet, including fibre for businesses in the Melbourne and Sydney CBDs, along with nbn, dark fibre, enterprise Ethernet, backup services, 3CX phone systems, Microsoft Teams integration and 1300 numbers. It is based in Port Melbourne.

Businesses review their provider for ordinary reasons: a contract is coming to an end, the business is moving office, or it wants internet and phones from a single carrier that deals only with businesses. If any of those apply to you, it makes sense to compare what else is available before you renew.

Summit offers Ethernet over fibre, business nbn with a static IP, fixed wireless across Melbourne and regional Victoria, 4G backup, and a cloud phone system, all running on a network we build, own and operate. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Axecom.

How Summit Helps

  • A Business-Only Carrier

Summit does not sell residential services. We have worked only with businesses for 26 years.

  • Ethernet Over Fibre

For offices that need dedicated capacity, Ethernet over fibre connects your site directly into Summit's network. Tell us what your current fibre service does and we will design a replacement around it.

  • Our Own Network, With DDoS Protection as Standard

Summit builds, owns and operates its own network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres. DDoS protection is included as standard on our services.

  • Business nbn With a Static IP Included

Business nbn comes with a static IP included, with speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn, and is available to Australian businesses nationally.

  • Fixed Wireless in Melbourne and Regional Victoria

If your premises is in our Melbourne or regional Victorian footprint, fixed wireless runs across 500+ suburbs with symmetric speeds from 10 Mbps up to 10 Gbps, installed in 10 business days or your first month is free. Check your address.

  • 4G Backup That Fails Over Automatically

4G Backup switches your connection to Australia's biggest mobile network (98.8% population coverage) if your primary link drops, then fails back automatically when it returns.

  • Phones on the Same Network

If you also want to move your phones, Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month with every feature included, or keep your existing phone system with SIP trunks. We also offer Microsoft Teams Calling via Direct Routing and 1300 and 1800 numbers. Voice traffic is prioritised when your internet is also Summit's.

  • One Bill for Internet, Phones and Mobile

Internet, phones and business mobile SIM plans can all sit on one Summit bill, with one carrier to call.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have now

Share your current services, sites and contract end date, and what you need the connection to do.

  2. 2 Get a tailored quote

We recommend the right access for each site, whether that is Ethernet over fibre, business nbn or fixed wireless, plus any backup or voice services.

  3. 3 Install before you cut over

Where possible, your new Summit service is installed and tested alongside your existing connection, so you can plan the changeover.

  4. 4 Move across and cancel the old service

Once everything is running on Summit, you cancel your previous service in line with your agreement.

  • As a reseller, we primarily work with Summit’s 4G services and have been very impressed. The plans are affordable, flexible, and well suited to our customers—especially for internet failover solutions. The sales and support teams are responsive and genuinely helpful, which is why we’re proud to partner with Summit Internet. We happily recommend them.Read more

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Axecom?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with Axecom.
Why switch if my Axecom service is working?
If your current service does everything you need, there may be no reason to switch. Many businesses look at alternatives when a contract is ending, when they are moving office, or when they want internet and phones from one business-only carrier. A quote gives you something to compare against.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with Axecom. Check your contract terms, and if there is a minimum term, the simplest approach is to time your switch to line up with your contract end date.
What internet options does Summit offer?
Summit offers Ethernet over fibre, business nbn with a static IP included, 4G Static IP and fixed wireless in Melbourne and regional Victoria. We will recommend the best fit for each site.
Can Summit keep my business online if the main connection drops?
Yes. 4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network and fails back automatically when your primary connection returns.
Is fixed wireless available at my office?
Summit's fixed wireless network covers 500+ suburbs across Melbourne and regional Victoria only. You can check your address or call us.
Can I move my phones to Summit as well?
Yes. You can move to Hosted PBX, keep your existing phone system on SIP trunks, or use Microsoft Teams Calling. Existing numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days. Keep your old service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported.
Will there be downtime when I switch?
Where possible, we install and test your Summit service before you cancel the old one, so you can plan the cutover around your business.
