Overview

Aussie Broadband is an ASX-listed telco that started in Morwell, Victoria, and sells to homes as well as businesses. Its business range includes Business nbn, nbn Enterprise Ethernet, its own Aussie Fibre network, hosted phone systems, VoIP phones, SIP trunks, business numbers, mobile SIM plans and 4G backup. Its former enterprise brand, Wideband Networks, was folded into Aussie Broadband Enterprise in 2019.

There are plenty of good reasons to review a provider without anything being wrong. A contract is coming to an end. You are moving office. You want your internet and phones from one carrier with voice traffic prioritised across a Summit connection. Or you would simply rather deal with a provider whose whole network and team are built around business customers.

Summit Internet is a business-only carrier. We build, own and operate our own network with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres, and we supply Business nbn, Ethernet over fibre, fixed wireless in Melbourne and regional Victoria, a cloud phone system, SIP trunks and business mobile plans to Australian businesses.

Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Aussie Broadband.

How Summit Helps

  • Business nbn With a Static IP Included

Our Business nbn plans are available nationally, with a static IP included and speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. Every service sits behind DDoS protection as standard.

  • Dedicated Fibre for Larger Sites

If you have outgrown nbn, Ethernet over fibre is available for sites that need more than nbn. We will scope the right option for each of your sites.

  • A Cloud Phone System With Every Feature Included

Our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month, with auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps all included. We can preconfigure handsets and ship them to your office.

  • SIP Trunks for the Phone System You Already Have

Happy with your existing PBX? Our SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volume changes.

  • Keep Your Numbers, Including 1300 and 1800

We port your existing numbers across, and we supply 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers, fax to email and on-hold messaging.

  • Microsoft Teams Calling

If your team lives in Teams, we connect it to the phone network through Direct Routing. You keep your existing Microsoft licences; we provide the calling.

  • 4G Backup That Fails Over Automatically

4G Backup switches your site to Australia's biggest mobile network (98.8% population coverage) if your main link drops, then fails back automatically when it returns.

  • Internet, Phones and Mobile on One Bill

Add business mobile SIM plans and everything sits with one carrier. When your internet is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised across the connection.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

Send us a recent bill or a list of your services: internet connections, phone system or SIP trunks, numbers and mobiles. We will map each one to a Summit equivalent.

  2. 2 Get a clear quote

We recommend the right internet, voice and mobile setup for each site and show you exactly what it costs. Request a quote to get started.

  3. 3 Install your new connection

We connect your new internet service first, so your business is on Summit's network before anything else changes.

  4. 4 Port your numbers

We lodge the port of your existing numbers. Keep your current phone service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  5. 5 Cancel the old services

Once your numbers are live with Summit and everything is working, you cancel the remaining services with your old provider.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

  • Summit internet recently set my small business up with a local land line number and a soft phone that runs off an app on my mobile - getting my personal phone number off the internet and being able to distinguish between business and personal calls is a game changer. Whole process took less than a week, and is super cost effective. Highly recommend.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Aussie Broadband?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not owned by, affiliated with or a reseller of Aussie Broadband.
Why switch if my Aussie Broadband service is working?
If your current services do everything your business needs, there may be no reason to switch. Businesses usually talk to us when a contract is ending, they are moving office, they want internet and phones from one business-only carrier, or they want features like a static IP, 4G backup or a fully featured cloud phone system bundled together.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with Aussie Broadband, so check your contract terms. Many businesses time the switch to line up with the end of their contract, and we are happy to plan the move around that date.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, in most cases we can port your existing numbers, including 1300 and 1800 numbers. Keep your current phone service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported.
How long does number porting take?
According to the ACMA, single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days. We keep you updated through the process.
Can I keep my existing phone system?
Yes. If you have a PBX you are happy with, our SIP trunks connect it to the phone network, starting from 2 channels. If you would rather move to the cloud, our Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month.
Do you offer business nbn nationally?
Yes. Summit's Business nbn is available to Australian businesses nationally, with a static IP included and speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn.
Do you sell Microsoft Teams licences?
No. We provide Teams calling through Direct Routing and you keep your existing Microsoft licences.
Can I switch only part of my services?
Yes. Some businesses move their phones first, or start with one site, and bring the rest across later. We will quote whatever combination suits you.
