Overview

ATS Telecoms is a business communications provider based in Artarmon, NSW. It sells business VoIP, call routing and a cloud PBX built on Yeastar, alongside business internet such as nbn, fibre and backup connectivity, plus IT, networking and security services.

Businesses review their phone provider for ordinary reasons: a contract coming to an end, a move to a new office, a growing team, or wanting internet and phones from a single carrier that also runs the network underneath them. If any of those apply, it makes sense to compare before you renew.

Summit offers a hosted PBX from $10 per user per month with every feature included, SIP trunks for businesses keeping their existing phone system, and business nbn with a static IP included. When your internet is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised across the connection.

Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with ATS Telecoms.

How Summit Helps

  • A cloud phone system with everything included

Summit's hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month, with auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email and call recording included. There are no feature tiers to work through.

  • Keep your existing phone numbers

We port your existing numbers across to Summit, so customers keep calling the numbers they already know. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported.

  • SIP trunks if you want to keep your PBX

If you already own a phone system you are happy with, Summit SIP trunks connect it to our network. Start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your team changes.

  • Internet and phones from one carrier

Pair your phones with business nbn with a static IP included, up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn, or ethernet over fibre. Voice traffic is prioritised when the connection is also Summit's.

  • Backup that keeps calls flowing

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network if your primary connection drops, then fails back automatically when it returns.

  • Work from anywhere

Mobile and desktop apps let your team make and take calls on their business numbers from a laptop or phone, in the office or at home.

  • Handsets ready to plug in

Handsets can be preconfigured and shipped to your office, so your team can start making calls as soon as they are unpacked.

  • 1300 numbers, Teams and more

Summit also provides 1300 and 1800 inbound numbers, fax to email, on-hold messaging and Microsoft Teams Calling via Direct Routing.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

Share your current numbers, handsets, call flows and internet services, and we will map them to the right Summit services.

  2. 2 Get a quote

We put together a quote for your phones, and internet if you want it, so you can compare before your current contract ends.

  3. 3 Set up and port your numbers

We build your hosted PBX or SIP trunks and lodge the number port. Keep your ATS Telecoms service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  4. 4 Switch over

Once the port completes, calls arrive on your Summit service and your preconfigured handsets and apps are ready to use.

  5. 5 Cancel the old service

After everything is confirmed working on Summit, you can arrange to close your old services with your previous provider.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of ATS Telecoms?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with ATS Telecoms in any way.
Why switch if my ATS Telecoms service is working?
If your current service does everything you need, there may be no reason to switch. Many businesses compare providers when a contract ends, when they move office, or when they want internet and phones from one carrier. If that is you, a quote costs nothing to request.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, existing numbers can be ported to Summit. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on the terms of your agreement with ATS Telecoms. Check your contract end date and any early termination terms, and time your switch to line up with the end of the contract where you can.
Can I keep my existing phone system?
Often, yes. If your current PBX supports SIP, Summit SIP trunks can connect it to our network. If you would rather move to the cloud, our hosted PBX replaces the on-site system.
Do I need to move my internet to Summit as well?
No. Our phone services work over other providers' internet connections. When your internet is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised across the connection, and everything sits on one bill.
What features come with Summit's hosted PBX?
Every feature is included from $10 per user per month: auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps.
Do you support Microsoft Teams calling?
Yes. Summit provides Microsoft Teams Calling via Direct Routing. We do not resell Microsoft licences, so you keep your existing Microsoft 365 arrangement.
Where does Summit provide service?
Summit's phone services and business nbn are available to Australian businesses nationally. Our fixed wireless network covers Melbourne and regional Victoria.
