Overview

Argyle Communications is a business phone specialist based in Sydney's North West, established in 1991. It supplies and installs business phone systems and offers hosted VoIP systems, VoIP trunks, nbn internet for not-for-profit organisations, phone service and support, and cabling.

Businesses and organisations review their provider for plenty of ordinary reasons: a contract term coming to an end, an office move, growth into more sites or staff, or simply wanting internet and phones from one carrier that looks after the whole connection. If your calls run over your internet, having the same provider responsible for both can make life simpler.

Summit offers a Hosted PBX cloud phone system, SIP trunks for phone systems you already own, and business nbn with a static IP included, all on a network Summit builds, owns and operates. Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with Argyle Communications.

How Summit Helps

  • A cloud phone system with every feature included

Summit's Hosted PBX starts from $10 per user per month, with auto attendant, ring groups, call queues, voicemail to email, call recording and mobile and desktop apps all included. There are no feature tiers to work through.

  • SIP trunks for the phone system you already have

If you own an on-premise phone system, Summit SIP trunks start from 2 channels and scale up or down as your call volumes change. You keep the hardware and change the carrier behind it.

  • Business nbn with a static IP included

Summit business nbn comes with a static IP as standard, with speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn.

  • Voice prioritised on your own connection

When your internet is also with Summit, voice traffic is prioritised on the connection, so calls are not competing with large downloads or cloud backups.

  • Keep your phone numbers

Summit can port your existing local numbers and 1300 and 1800 numbers across, so customers keep calling the numbers they already know.

  • Preconfigured handsets

Handsets can be preconfigured and shipped to you, ready to plug in on changeover day, which keeps disruption to the office to a minimum.

  • Backup when the line goes down

4G Backup fails over automatically to Australia's biggest mobile network, with 98.8% population coverage, and fails back automatically when your main service returns.

  • One carrier, one bill

Internet, phones and business mobile sit on one Summit bill, with one provider accountable for the lot.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

Share your current Argyle Communications services, such as a hosted VoIP system, VoIP trunks or nbn, along with your numbers and contract end date.

  2. 2 Get a tailored quote

We recommend a Hosted PBX or SIP trunk setup and the right internet connection for your site, timed to your contract end.

  3. 3 Order and port your numbers

We lodge the port for your existing numbers. Keep your Argyle Communications service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported. The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.

  4. 4 Install and test

Your Summit internet is connected and preconfigured handsets are shipped, so your new system is ready before the numbers move.

  5. 5 Cut over and cancel

Once the port completes and calls are flowing on Summit, you can cancel the old services with your previous provider.

  • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of Argyle Communications?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. It is not affiliated with Argyle Communications.
Why switch if my Argyle Communications service is working?
If your current service does everything you need, there may be no reason to change. Businesses usually review their provider when a contract is ending, when they move or open another office, or when they want internet and phones from a single carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with Argyle Communications. Check your contract term and any exit fees, and time your switch to the end of the term where you can. We can help you plan the changeover around that date.
Can I keep my phone numbers?
Yes, Summit can port your existing numbers, including 1300 and 1800 numbers. Keep your current service active until the port completes, because only active numbers can be ported.
How long does porting take?
The ACMA says single local numbers generally port in 8 to 15 days, and multi-number ports can take up to 30 days.
Can I keep my existing desk phones?
If you own an on-premise phone system, Summit SIP trunks can connect to it. If you move to Summit Hosted PBX, we can preconfigure and ship handsets so they are ready to plug in.
Do I need Summit internet to use Summit phones?
No, but when your internet is also with Summit, voice traffic is prioritised on the connection, and you have one provider responsible for both.
Does Summit offer Microsoft Teams calling?
Yes. Summit connects Microsoft Teams to the phone network through Direct Routing. Summit does not resell Microsoft licences, so you keep those with your current licence provider.
Does Summit offer internet as well as phones?
Yes. Summit offers business nbn nationally with a static IP included, Ethernet over fibre, 4G Static IP and 4G Backup, all on one bill with your phones.
