Overview

5G Networks (5GN) is an Australian digital infrastructure business that sells data networks, data centre space, cloud and managed IT services to organisations. Its connectivity range includes dedicated premium fibre, dark fibre, wavelength services, internet services and SD-WAN, alongside public, private and hybrid cloud.

Businesses review their connectivity for ordinary reasons: a contract is coming to an end, the office is moving, or they want internet and phones from one carrier instead of several suppliers. Some simply prefer a provider that only deals with businesses.

Summit Internet focuses on the connection itself. We supply business nbn with a static IP included, Ethernet over fibre, 4G Backup and business phone systems, delivered over a network we build, own and operate. If your servers or cloud workloads stay where they are, we can still provide the internet links that reach them.

Summit Internet is an independent carrier and is not affiliated with 5GN (5G Networks).

How Summit Helps

  • Business nbn with a static IP included

Our business nbn plans include a static IP, with speeds up to 2000/500 Mbps on full-fibre nbn. It suits offices that run VPNs, remote access or hosted applications.

  • Ethernet over fibre for sites that need more

Where a standard nbn service is not enough, Ethernet over fibre is another option for business sites. Ask us which connection suits each of your locations.

  • Our own network, with NEXTDC Points of Presence

Summit builds, owns and operates its network, with Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres.

  • DDoS protection as standard

Summit includes DDoS protection as standard.

  • 4G Backup that switches over automatically

4G Backup fails over to Australia's biggest mobile network (98.8% population coverage) if your main link drops, then fails back automatically when it returns.

  • Fixed wireless in Melbourne and regional Victoria

For sites in Melbourne and regional Victoria, Summit fixed wireless is also available.

  • Phones on the same connection

Add a Hosted PBX from $10 per user per month or SIP trunks for an existing phone system. When the internet connection is also Summit's, voice traffic is prioritised.

  • One bill for internet, phones and mobile

Internet, phones and business mobile SIM plans all come on one Summit bill, with one carrier to call.

How It Works

  1. 1 Tell us what you have

List your current 5GN services, site addresses and contract end dates, and note which services you plan to keep elsewhere, such as data centre or cloud.

  2. 2 Get a recommendation and quote

We match each site to business nbn, Ethernet over fibre or, in Melbourne and regional Victoria, fixed wireless, and add 4G Backup where it makes sense.

  3. 3 Schedule the install

We time the new connection to suit your contract end date or office move, so you are not paying for two services longer than necessary.

  4. 4 Cut over

Your new service is installed and tested before you switch traffic across. If you are also moving phones, numbers are ported while the old service stays active.

  5. 5 Cancel the old service

Once everything is running on Summit, you cancel the services you no longer need with your previous provider.

Why 5GN (5G Networks) Customers Choose Summit

  • 01

A licensed carrier, not a reseller

Summit holds ACMA Carrier Licence #388 and has been in business for 26 years. We run our own network rather than reselling someone else's.

  • 02

    Business only

Summit does not sell residential services. We only deal with businesses.

  • 03

    Internet and phones together

Many businesses want their connection and their phone system from one carrier. Summit supplies both, with voice traffic prioritised on Summit internet.

  • 04

    Flexible about what stays where

You do not have to move everything at once. Keep your hosting or cloud where it is and move the connectivity, or start with one site and add others later.

The plans are affordable, flexible, and well suited to our customers—especially for internet failover solutions. • After working with another ISP for several months to deliver a critical internet service for a major international sporting event, we were ultimately advised that the required upgrade was unlikely to be completed prior to event week. This left us facing a significant risk to service delivery. After exhausting all other options (and a few sleepless nights) we came across Summit Internet. From the initial conversation, Allan immediately understood the severity of the situation and quickly engaged his technical delivery team. Michael “Radar” was on site within days to assess and finalise a solution. Despite challenging conditions, including large trees and other obstructions, he worked tirelessly to design and implement an alternative approach. Leveraging an adjacent building, a temporary NBN connection, and a wireless link into the comms room, the solution was delivered within 24 hours of the initial site visit. Not only was the outcome faster than expected, but it was also more cost effective and delivered higher speeds than originally promised by the previous ISP. Over the course of the event, the service handled terabytes of data and supported hundreds of concurrent users without a single speed or performance issue. I cannot thank Summit Internet, particularly Allan and Radar enough for their exceptional service, technical expertise, and commitment to delivering under pressure. Highly recommended.Read more

Frequently asked questions

Is Summit Internet part of 5GN (5G Networks)?
No. Summit Internet is an independent Australian carrier holding ACMA Carrier Licence #388. We are not affiliated with 5GN (5G Networks) or any of its brands.
Why switch if my 5GN (5G Networks) service is working?
If your current service does everything you need, there may be no reason to switch. Businesses usually review their provider at contract end, when moving office, or when they want internet and phones from one business-only carrier.
Will I have to pay to break my contract?
That depends on your agreement with your current provider. Check your contract end date and any early termination terms, and we can time the switch to line up with the end of your contract.
Does Summit offer data centre or cloud hosting?
Summit focuses on internet, data links, phones and mobile. If you keep your hosting or cloud services elsewhere, we can provide the connections that reach them, and our network has Points of Presence in NEXTDC data centres.
What internet options does Summit offer?
Business nbn nationally with a static IP included, Ethernet over fibre, 4G Static IP and 4G Backup. In Melbourne and regional Victoria we also offer fixed wireless. You can check coverage here.
Can I move my phones to Summit as well?
Yes. Summit offers a Hosted PBX, SIP trunks for existing phone systems, Microsoft Teams Calling via Direct Routing and 1300 and 1800 numbers. Existing numbers can be ported, and the old service must stay active until the port completes.
Do I have to move every site at once?
No. Many businesses start with one site or one service and add the rest when other contracts end.
Is DDoS protection extra?
No. DDoS protection is included as standard on Summit connections.
