Lest we Forget
As many enjoy a day out of the office, spending the day with family and friends, enjoying a long weekend, getting out and taking part in the traditional ANZAC Day activities or watching the clash between Collingwood and Essendon at the mighty MCG, we all need to take a moment to remember and pay respect to our Service Men and Women who have fought and returned, those who are still in active service protecting our Country and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our Nation.
We pay our thanks not only to our Service & Support Personnel, but to their families who go for months at a time without Mothers, Fathers and Children all in the name of serving our Great Country, Australia. Without these dedicated Men and Women, we would not be living young and free.
They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;
They sit no more at familiar tables of home;
They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;
They sleep beyond England’s foam.
Lest we forget
